Transfer by car from Manali to Kais, 30 km, about 1 hour. In Kais we will visit the Gompa and start tour trek to Tandla village. The first day is a little bit difficult as the trail is steepy and we will gain 700 m to reach the village. We first walk along the Kais river until the small village of Chandla where we will stop for the lunch. The trail continue in the east before to reach the place. We need about 4 hours but the reward is ahead. You will visit the village and sleep in a local house as it is the best way to discover the local culture and share a good time with the local people. Tandla is situated at 2440m.
The trail continue in the east direction and we will climb about 1 hour to reach the place of Matin. From there the way become very easy , no ups and down during the 12 km we have to cover to reach Bijili Mahadev temple. It’ s a 5000 years old temple dedicated to lord Shiva. As the place is at the end of the mountain you will get a breathtaking view on the Kullu/Parvati valleys and if the weather is clear you will observ the peaks of Deo Tibba (6001m) and Indrasan (6221m). It’s a 5 hours walk, night in camp.
The trail follow the ridge during one hour before to turn on the north east side and enter the Parvati valley. The way to Pini village is quiet easy but as you are walking along a steepy side of the mountain we must be carefull. It’s one of the best walk accross the Parvati valley as you have an expendable view all along. You may see lots of eagles here as there are a lots of nests around. There are 14 differents species of eagles in Himachal only. We need about 5 hours. Pini is situated at 2200m. Night in camp.
The next day we go down from the village and reach the bridge to jari in about two hours. From there we have a transfer by jeep back to Manali.
